I mean, this is a common sentiment from pretty much everybody that wants to use the LRG MUSCLE forum as a estimate/grading service.

Ok that makes sense but what should I have done instead? Next time dont ask for price? or say what my offer is and if that is a good price? Instead of price use a 1-10 scale on how many rare muscles are in the lot? If you let me know I will follow from now on

not trying to sound mean but if you can point to the section of for new muscle collectors that explains how to identify muscles in blurry pic and what to bid on those muscles you cant identify? Also i have read for new muscle collectors and as many threads as i can on this forum. That being said I have found that there are people here that know more than I can or ever could. So I ask there opinion in the hopes I can learn something from them. Thanks to everyone who responds to my question!!

This message board is about as helpful as it gets. There's an entire section which could be called "Help me ID this so I can sell it."

However, you've posted a nearly identical thread like this twice now. Again, here it is. People gave you a lot of great advice. And before that you were asking the value of 3 specific Class A figures. In fact, the vast majority of your posts have been about Class A figures and prices.

I'm surprised people didn't get pissy a bit sooner - but don't worry about it. Now you know that just posting "how much" threads gets to be tiresome. It doesn't mean that we don't want to you to post. In fact, please sell your figures here! But please stop asking how much you should charge us. You've asked enough times to have an idea.

And, you know... Maybe interject something useful every once in a while, like an opinion or comment or something. Treating the whole lot of us like a bunch of shills isn't going to get you what you want, except maybe from Ironoak.

Next time do a little research when members have identified a resource to use.

Honestly, I don't even care about that.

If he just wants to sell, then that's great with me. Hell, I wish we had more people selling MUSCLE figures! HOWEVER, don't ask me (each and every time) what it's worth before you sell it to me.

Fair enough.

Maybe we should add a toy-value forum to the Marketplace section?

I also read that muscles can be classed as A and B. if I find a big lot from canada I thought showing you my finds could help you decide how rare something is. Also is it possible to have a stupid noob section (answer at own risk)? where i can ask prices cause someone could answer only if they felt like it and would keep it out of the muscle section. Someone could say $5000 or $5 I just want to discuss it. If the answer is no I will except that

I don't think so.

There's a learning curve with any collectible toy. At some point, kind of early on, "knowing" the price is the responsibility of the seller. So asking about prices and values can be a natural extension of many threads and topics. However, you don't want the same person asking "how much?" in every thread - nor do you really want to read an entire section of "how much?"

The key is the seller/asker to get the "hang of it" after a little while. It's kind of like a 3-strike program. After three, get out.

Not anymore, you do it. Start here and you shouldn't have a single problem.

As for price - it's just not that easy. Trust me. ;) The easiest thing to do, assume Class A's are worth more - but not priceless and possibly worthless. I've had to give them away instead of just sitting on them. So just PM a MUSCLE person. If I offer you $100 for a figure, then ask Walker or ironmask or ironoak (well, maybe not him). Ask Soupie. AllSportDVD. Or ask someone who you should ask about a price.

If they say it sounds like a fair price, then sell it. Or just list it on eBay. If it's a figure people need, then they will pay. If not, you've scored a worthless Class A. (But honestly you should probably have the hang of it by now if you've actually read or listened to any of the many, many suggestions.)

Is this strike 1 or strike 3? I wont ask for a price again but this is the first time anyone has said anything. In fact the last 2 times people answered exactly what i wanted to know. I am not trying to defy you or the rules of the forum. I just thought this forum was where people who know a lot can help noobs out with questions. Now I know what is allowed to be asked!

If these figures are sold via board auction, that alone will eliminate the need to ask about prices. The winning bid will be current market value (or close to it).

BTW that lot is a great find! As Veers already mentioned, @ $190 I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger.

Ok, again, many of us are tired of new people coming here and asking how much this, how much that, and then turning around and selling it to members here. Do a little homework first. That is why For New M.U.S.C.L.E. Collectors is pinned at top. I don't know what else to do to make something more obvious to read. I figured that thread would be an easy "hey, maybe I should read this first." In that thread you'll see Veers' link, and I wrote how to find auctions/figures in his post. Veers has done a LOT of auction watches, and many of them include class a figures. At the end of each of his auction watch he has the final price it sold for.

I did not start this thread to disrespect anyone if thats how it came off. You have probably seen people use the boards only for personal gain. I assure you that is not me and will not ask for price again

Veers' advice has been the best so far: Review the new user thread, and ask specific members. Asking once in a while isn't disrespectful, but doing it all of the time kind of sucks. Another good, and unlikely, resource is the Sightings thread, where you can watch a lot of this shit unfold.

We don't take it as a sign of disrespect. To add on to what Ironmask just posted, you can also do a key word search in Sightings.

There is an upside to people asking about prices here. You can totally pretend you're one of those experts they bring in on Pawn Stars.

Sugarpappy - it doesn't help your cause when you pop up, saying "look at this great lot I found" then disappear until the next time you find a lot.

This is the third lot you've found yet I don't believe a single figure you have available has made its way to a collector here......

ok no more asking how much things cost. I bought this for $125.00 I was just wondering I thought I saw a salmon claw at the top of the picture but its not in the lot. Is that a salmon claw or am I mistaken?

At $125 you did good. Now if you want to know what each individual figure is worth you have the knowledge on where to go and look.

I think we should all just start posting MUSCLE wants ads. Maybe with enough interest craigslist users just might throw them on ebay instead of dealing with one guy.

"At the nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park, we are told not to feed the bears, because it breeds dependency. They end up with the habit of coming to humans for food, and then they forget how to take care of themselves. They can appear friendly at first, but when you don’t give them what they want, they become hostile and dangerous. The greater the dependency, the more aggressive they become."
