Hey guys, I've finally got around to having a go at sculpting after seeing everybody else's great little projects. The hints, tips an techniques I've picked up both directly and indirectly from the members around here and what I've sculpted in is Super Sculpey.

My 'Ooze' figure hasn't actually got a name; he's just something I sketched out following a chat with biz. Started out like this:

Posted Image Posted Image

I decided to stick to OMFG size for ease. I just hope I can find the time in future to have a go at another sculpt in order to get better, especially in regards to adding a new layer to an already hardened layer

I like it Al, I think it looks better than some of the S3 OMFG :)
There is a lot of detail on the face.

Cheers for the comments guys  Super Sculpey is pretty 'beginner friendly' I must say. I'll definitely have a go at more detailed work once I get some more experience :)

It really is awesome dude, and adding more Sculpey to an already cooked sculpt is easy, it blends in really well,

i've done this many times with my sculpting, i usualy cook some parts before adding more.
My zombie is a perfect example, i cooked his head to save the detail from my fat clumsy fingers, and then proceeded with his body.

Keep up the sculpting man, your a natural

Great figure.
Your an artist now.
Adding anything more to the figer would be overkill,
fine the way it is.
Definately a candidate to be an OMFG figie.

'On Sale' or 'For Sale'. It's really the same thing! The word, 'Sale' means YOU CAN BUY IT,
not that it is discounted. We as consumers are conditioned to think"On Sale"means it's cheaper.

I agree :) if it aint broke don't fix it.. it is the simplest ideas that make the biggest waves.. to me it is subtle yet he is such a unique character that it sets him apart from the others in OMFG and some other lines truly great work

It's interesting that a couple of you have suggested I enter this for the next OMFG - this is something I never considered when I had a go at this sculpt, plus with the way I feel about OMFG at this moment in time it's unlikely that I would enter this or any other figure over there anyway. I'd like to do a couple more figures with the aim of getting them cast one way or another :)

Love it, especially the third leg - if that really is your first try, and Super Sculpey really IS that easy to use... I NEED some!

Yowza, I remember it wasn't too long ago when you were askinf about sculpting mediums and looking to start making some custom minis... I gotta say, you really hit the ground running there.

Cheers bigazz, I'm hoping to start a second figure sculpt over the weekend  Need to sketch something out first though! If I can do two more decent-ish sculpts then I can look more seriously at taking the first tentative steps into moulding and casting following all the great advice I've had on this topic of late :)

Hey guys, I've sculpted and baked my second figure now. This one caused me some trouble due to me trying to get the muscle definition half decent. As you can see from the pics below he stands on his hands an is surprisingly stable and well balanced:

Time to think about a third figure now
