Satan Cross Union Set B type
Company: Romandoh
Packaging: Carded blister pack. This pack is like the older G1 Romandoh packages where you can slice the tape and slip the card off the blister pack and take out the figure without damaging the package. Very nice for collectors who want to keep re-pack the figure in a mint box.
Size: Samson Trainer is a hair shy of 9" tall and Hellminth Cross is About 8 1/2". Both are solid and heavy. The combined form of Satan Cross is the same height as Samson Trainer and the depth is about 6"
Where Can I Buy It?: I bought is on the site that shall not be named...NO!Asia..LOL
Price Range: $94 plus free shipping...$40 off the original listed price.
Sculpt (4.5 out of 5): Looks great! Hellminth Cross suffers a bit, due to the fact that he's the one who has to house all of combining joints intergrated into his body.
Paint (4 out of 5): The blue and bronze color scheme is very striking. The bronze armor is a lil too plain though and definitlly has fewer paint apps than the Original version. What surprised me the most is that the figures look like the pictures! Usually production photos are photoshopped like crazy and often the result is that the toy in hand looks like a cheap knockoff compared to the photo. But that is not the case here. The muscles are detailed with an airbrush, as well as the armor edges. It gives the figure more a collector's display piece look rather than an action figure to play with..but then again at $100 you almost expect that. It makes it a bit easier to justify the coinage spent. The reason I chose to purchase the B type over the A type is for the uniform color scheme. It really makes Satan Cross look like one entity. Where as the A set you can clearly see which part is Hellminth and which part is Samson. I'm glad I chose B.
The only paint flaw i see is that Hellminth cross' face aribrushing is a lil uneven and is more concentrate don the right side of his face...it gives the apperance that he got a sunburn or someone socked him good in the eye...

Articulation (4 out of 5): Its the G2 body style with limitations. Samson Trainer has 14 ponts of articulation. (Ball shoulders, hips, ankles and neck. Elbow, waist, knees and wrists swivels.) Due to the back of the armor skirt he cant bend his legs back too far at the hips...i guess no german suplexes for this guy. The armor skirt is divided into 6 plates. Each plate (except the back one) is jointed at the waist so that they don't get in the way when Samson poses his legs. Also he lacks a mid torso joint that the G2 figures have...but thats due to his combining gimmick.
Hellminth Cross has 16 points of articluation. (Ball shoulders, Hips and ankles. Armpits, elbows, wrists, knees, waist and neck are swivels.) His neck joint only allows Hellminth to look up, and his shoulders are double jointed so that the arms can swing out for Satan Cross.
Accessories (3 out of 5): You basically get gauntlets and shin armor for both figures. Samson also has chest armor. The shin armor is the same for both and Samson's gauntlets have two spiked ends. But all the armor is inter-changeable between both figures except of course for the chest armor. The armor is really neccessary as the figures look really plain without it.
Action Features: (5 out of 5): Satan Cross Union: Fold out the arms at the armpit joints. Slide Hellminth's arms upward at the ribs. This will expose an elongated neck. Fold Hellminth's head back and swing his upperbody forward at the hips to almost 90 degrees. Shove his head through the back of Samson trainer so that it sticks out of Samson's stomach. There are four tabs on Samson's back that plug into 4 slots of Hellminth's neck. The tabs and Helminth's snug head help keep him attached to Samson's back.
All together Satan Cross has 27 points of articulation! The loss of 3 points are from Helminth's head and Helminth's armpit joints.
Coolness (5 out of 5): Satan Cross looks amazing! The uniform color scheme really shines and makes it look like one big figure.
Value (3 out of 5): Expensive as hell, but a cool set. I don't know why someone whould buy them seperatley as Hellminth is really an average figure at best. Samson is the definitley the better of the two. The set kicks both thier keisters!
Overall (4.5 out of 5): I look at Satan Cross Union set as one big figure that has the bonus feature of splitting up into two of his components. Tons of fiddle factor, and it kinda transforms...which is an A+ in my book. ( I loves me some Transformers) Awesome figure and a great first Romando for anyone's collection. Man I'm really happy with this purchase. I love this figure. The bad part is now I'm going to want more ROmandos! My poor wallet!
I'll post some pics inthe nest day or so
