Today my Penguins came back from one of their missions and they brought back something interesting

Attached File  Egg Penguin 1.JPG   237.6K   46 downloadsAttached File  Egg Penguin 2.JPG   454.15K   63 downloadsAttached File  Egg Penguin 3.JPG   322.92K   62 downloadsAttached File  Egg Penguin 4.JPG   318.6K   81 downloadsAttached File  Egg Penguin 5.JPG   342.27K   73 downloads

I can remember having seen a pic of an egged Penguin on the internet before but never looked into it back than.
For me this egg was quite an interesting find as so far I always thought only the Gummy's and SD beasts were available within these eggs but based on the included pamphlet its clear that it was just a lucky shot with these Japanese egg machines. Since there were not only the rare gummy's that you could find inside these eggs but the original figs as well. This was a new discovery for me.

On a $$ value it would've been better to have a gummball in it but for me this egged Penguin has much more collectors value as its a nice piece within my army.

So guess I've to update my army status with one egg :)

Thanks for the Translation WhiteLeo!
Since this already reveals a little more of the story.
But its strange the number of painting samples (gumballs?) isn't mentioned while the original and SD figs are.

This little catalog was the one that has given headache to all collectors who tried to collect the gumball beasts years ago. If you read it quickly you might conclude that there are 15 white gumball figures. This is false. This catalog says that figures shown are the "Battle Beast army" but this army has painted and unpainted warriors. It doesn't say that every beast in the army are unpainted. SO this catalog never said how much white gumball beasts were available and all collectors (including me) thought for years that they have to track 15 beasts 'cause they were misreading the catalog.

@ LORD I see you've some of these eggs with the original fig in it as well, did yours come without their weapons as well or did they include one?

A second catalog exists. The second one shows only the white gumball beasts and they are 12. It certainly means that there were at least 2 waves of Gumball Beasts in Japan but I don't have many more informations.

All my beasts still in eggs were without weapon or with the regular cobra weapon. I think that weapon may have been added or removed during the gumball production. To be able to know more about all of this we would need find of full selaed cases of Gumball. Then we will have enough material to precisely know how these figures were released years ago.

'On Sale' or 'For Sale'. It's really the same thing! The word, 'Sale' means YOU CAN BUY IT,
not that it is discounted. We as consumers are conditioned to think"On Sale"means it's cheaper.

We have seen full case finds on nearly all vintage toys lines (GI Joe, MOTU, Star Wars, etc) so why not.

Don't get me wrong I would like to see that happen.
Yes it is possible finding full sealed cases of
mass produced vintage toy lines nowadays.
(I managed to get 3 full cases myself.....don't ask me which toy line  )
But with vending machine toys I'd assume they
would be made in limited quantaties, otherwise there
would be alot more White BB gumballs around.
Just saying this for the White BB gumballs, but I know
the Muscle/keshi line thrived with the capsules, guess
because they were more popular and profitable for the company.
As for Geerts Penguin find,I didn't know regular
BB were found in capsules untill now.
Hope I find the next sealed case so I can share them with y'all.

Of course a full sealed case of capsule BB is something we will certainly never see. But I'm sure that some exist somewhere. I have been surprised by some finds on some real obscur toys lines. I know someone who found some months ago a full sealed case of Pocket Zaurus. In fact many finds like that are made by seller who keep the informations for them and sell items one by one. If only I had time and money to be able to travel all around the world (Japan, USA, etc) just to track vintage toys. This would be a great job.

good info about the gachapon releases in this thread. Since it's not ever really talked about, I think some might not be aware that the capsules also contained painted beasts as well as the white ones and SD's.
