Cybershark is one of my all-time favourite beasties from Beast Wars, (tied with every other dinosaur). He looks vicious as all hell and above all, he’s a Hammerhead shark when in beast mode. But on to the review!

Cybershark is a cleverly designed beast. Unlike some of the others in this line-up, he actually hides a majority of his robot parts. This is always a selling point for me with Transformers, how well they hide the fact that they’re robots. (I mean, they are supposed to be “robots in disguiseâ€￾ after all). However, because he is a shark, he doesn’t really do much and has only two points of articulation in his beast mode, (both of his pectoral fins). But I’ll let it go because he hides his parts well.

Cybershark in robot mode is down-right awesome though. He isn’t a pain to transform, but he isn’t as easy as some of the easier, basic beasts either. His tail flips out a blade to become some sort of pincer-like weapon and his shark head folds down into his chest, while the shark’s chest just folds out into wing-like structures.  You can also tilt the shark head up and have it shoot, and he also cleverly hides two missile refills behind his back inside of the shark chest cavity, (if you look closely at the missiles, they have little shark faces on the tips!).

In robot mode offers pretty standard articulation for any Beasties in this size-range, and offers some decent weapons/accessories. Over-all, he’s a pretty awesome looking toy. But is he worth it for the price?

Well, these days you have two options of getting this figure:

Yard sales, flea markets, etc. or Ebay:

If you go the Ebay route, you’re looking at paying around $30 for a complete figure. I personally wouldn’t buy him at that price, and I didn’t, but what you buy and at what price isn’t up to me! Although on that note, it can get pricey to build him from spare parts too. I got my figure nearly complete in a trade, but needed both missiles and both fins. I managed to get all four parts for around $9, so take that as you will.

Above all, I love the figure. I am the most impressed with how well they hide his robot form and accessories, (especially compared to some of the other figures in the line).

I bet you did think this face belong to one of the good guys!

Cool review!  I like his face in robot mode - it's like the Sharkticons from the old movie.

I'd love a sharkticon figure, but the G1s are just too pricey for cheap old me!

Man, if you think Cybershark is cool, you should see his Beast Wars Neo remold, Sharpedge! The Beast Wars 2 remold Hellscream (released by Hasbro as Universe Overbite) is neat too for pushing a cyborg shark aesthetic, but it's a lot more clunky than Cybershark or Sharpedge.

Kind of a shitty list - there are definitely stranger Beast Wars figures out there than Transquito, TM Primal or Megatron. Heinrad and Injector as the top two... more or less sounds right.

I actually agree. Especially the "Deluxe mutants" where they only change between two animals.

Heinrad with his giant tanuki nuts killed me though.
