Hey guys, after all the great info I was given in regards to the Transformers I picked up the other week I'm now looking for any Star Wars fans on here to help me once again. I know nothing about Star Wars and have never enjoyed the films that much either, but I do know that the older figures are somewhat collectable. I don't really want to join a Star Wars forum so I thought I'd try here first. Anyways, at a car boot this morning I came across an Adsa (UK members ;) ) carrier bag full of Star Wars figures and some accessories.

I've glanced at the markings and most either say 1978 or 1983, a few others say Hong Kong with no date. I pretty much would like to know if I've got any particular figures that stand out and maybe even which of the weapons belong to which figures. I've done some research on weapons but most of the sites just go on about repro weapon spotting. My favourite figures have to be the Yoda and the funny little guy in brown hooded robes.

There are approx 50 figures and 10 accessories/weapons and I paid £15 ($23) for them. I'm hoping that's a decent price.

As always, thanks in advance

Awesome answer Draznar, many thanks. May I be so bold as to ask which figures the small selection of weapons go with please? I know the small meat cleaver goes with the Gamorrean Guard, but beyond that I'm lost as websites suggest that different figures can have the same weapon.

#7 in the first pic is Klatu or Nikto I can't rememeber which. The silver staff with two points on one end is likely his.

10&11 in second picture are not tie pilots. They are ATAT pilots.

Draznar gave you most of them, so to just fill in the gaps/amend a couple:

Picture one:

4 - (known as "Squid Head")
6 - Logray
7 - Klaatu
10 - Luke Skywalker Rebel Pilot
21 - (known as "Cloud Car Pilot")
22 - Luke Skywalker ("Jedi Knight")

Picture two:

10,11 - AT-AT Pilot as OmegaTraf said
12,13 - Hoth Rebel Soldiers
14 - Ree Yees
15 - Dengar
16,17 - General Madine
18 - Hoth Luke Skywalker
19 - Hoth Rebel Commander

23 - R5-D4

25 - FX-7

It's a simple lot of figures. Nothing special - but the price! I would pay $23 for that lot in a heartbeat.

They aren't in mint condition, but not bad overall. If I was still army building you'd have a PM right now about the various Stormtroopers.

That's good to hear bud. From what you've said about army building, am I right in thinking that I'd be best selling the Stormtroopers as a small lot for example? I've been researching a couple of the figures this afternoon (still off work a little longer) and I believe that the caped Yoda and cloaked Jawa are probably the best of the bunch.

If it were me, this is what I would do.

Two lot: (1) Imperials - Stormtroopers, Snowtroopers, TIE Pilot, Royal Guard, AT-AT Drivers, Speederbike Scouts, and the Imperial Officer; and (2) everything else.

Since you paid $23 I know you want to get your money back. But I would guess that the Imperial lot alone should do that. So I'd start low on both auctions. There are plenty of SW lots out there, but most are far too over-priced. Since there is no shortage of SW collectors there is not very much risk in starting low. It will get to a pretty fair market price. With that lot you can't expect more than that.

Thanks, I'll have a go at sorting into those suggested two piles tonight and see how what they look like. I'm greatful I've got all the names now or I'd be at it forever.

Hi bigburty!  This is a great lot!  As for your question regarding the accessories I think I can help:

From left to right in descending order:

Silver and brown Axe:  Goes with the Gamorrean Guard in picture two.

M-16 Rifle:  Not a Star Wars accessory.

Laser Pistol:  Goes with the Han Solo figure with a black vest in picture one.

Long Rifle:  This actually belongs to the Chewbacca figure and looks nothing like his movie weapon hah.  But unfortunately it looks like you didn’t pick up a Chewbacca in this lot.

Shorter rifle with sling:  This belongs to the Luke Skywalker in “Hothâ€￾ gear in your second picture.

Longer Rifle with sling:  This belongs to the Rebel Commando figure, another figure you unfortunately didn’t get.

Grey long axe:  This does in fact belong to the Klaatu figure in the first picture.

Just some further information:

The backpack on “Hothâ€￾ Luke doesn’t technically go with him.  It was from a mail away offer for an accessory kit.  I can’t see the one on the “Hothâ€￾ Han Solo, but if it is the same backpack then same story.  The “light saberâ€￾ the one Darth Vader has is not an actual accessory.  It just looks like someone stuck that on there after losing his original red one.  Otherwise all the accessories are with their appropriate owners!

A great resource for Star Wars toys is: 12back.com

Once again great lot and I hope you found this helpful!

I sold off my childhood star wars toys 6 months ago, they were in basically the same condition. I averaged 12 dollars per figure. Some went for less, some for more. I'd say you will get atleast 20 + dollars for figures like Boba Fett, Yoda and Jawa.

Sell them one by one in order to maximize your profit. Will only take an hour or so to list the separately.

Ok guys, a final thanks for all the input. I've decided to use a mix of the advice given when listing. I've gone for a large lot of 30 figures, plus a couple of smaller lots (breaking the Stormtroopers into their own lot). Finally I've listed Yoda and Jawa individually. Everything is starting at 99p.

I did kind of think so, but wasn't sure at the time of purchase. Hoping I can make my money back now at least.

"Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in!"

I found this gun lodged in the corner of the bag that all the figures came in and put it in my customs/spares box not realising it was (I believe anyways) a Stat Wars gun. Turns out they're selling for nearly $10 on good ol' eBay. Crazy guys these Star Wars collectors

Hey guys, a HUGE and final thanks for the information given in this thread, in particular in regards to the suggested lots in which to sell these figures. To my surprise I watched as the final total archived on all these figures/weapns was £125.17, which I can now invest back into toys I actually want :)

On a related note, I decided in the end (against my better judgment) to join a Star Wars forum in order to try and drum up some UK-based interest in these figures and get valuations on a couple of individual figures. After being a member for just one day I was disgusted to read the abuse I received both in my thread and via PM just because I turned down offers to sell privately - 99% of which in turns out were lowball offers. I'm so glad that on the whole we treat people much better here at LRG.

Thats an interesting read. I forgot thats a reason I've remained her for 5+ years and all my Yojoe, Heman, etc accounts have been deleted for inactivity.

I like how the LRG community views these posts as a challange, even a scavanger hunt.  I've always felt that answering a post like this to the best of your capacity allows for your own lazy or stupid question down the road. We all have them. Its nice not to be ridiculed or berated for it.
