I'm just gonna go ahead and re-use this thread...no auction this time though. I'm selling this drawing of Kochiras the Spider for $30 shipped, but i will also trade it for an equivalent amount of colored M.U.S.C.L.E.s or Kinnikuman items.

As always, this piece is high-quality markers and ink on cardstock, 8.5x11".

I want to make two points.

The first is to everyone:
Scumdogg’s art is amazing! I have the piece he did for me framed and everyone that sees it just loves it. My son insists on being lifted up to view it every time he goes in that room. I guarantee this will look even better in person. Any Battle Beast collector should place a bid, especially if you are a fan of this figure.

The second is just to Scumdogg:
I would suggest that you are very, very clear about all of your rules. Feel free to use an elastic end time, but be clear how long the extension will be when new bids are placed. I would also think about your pricing. You already have three awesome pieces for sale at about the same price. While I would argue that these prices are a steal for the level of quality you get, it may seem high to the uninitiated. A $15 start and $1 bids might get the ball rolling a bit more. But these are just suggestions, so please feel free to ignore them. No matter what, good luck!

Let's see some bids! :(

While I do not own any of Scumdog's work, the fact he uses fade resistant markers and pencils means there is quality and it will last! His work is fantastic and while I agree w/ Veers on the price start, I too would probably start it off around $20-$25, because after you have spent the sort of time on a piece of art like that, I wouldn't want to have wasted hours on it to have it sell too cheap or at a steal! Seriously, there is nothing more disheartening as an artist when you put your time, materials, blood, and sweat into a work of art and it sells for a measly amount. Then you think to yourself, "Why did I bother selling it." I have a BS in Visual Art Education, was a Visual Art Educator for 7 years and a professional artist for over 15 years, so I can honestly say, "This is some EXCELLENT art work!" I was actually admiring this particular piece earlier this morning when I saw the post prior to Veers posting. Good Luck brutha!

BTW, I would probably set and end time and list what time zone you are and just end it then. If it gets sniped, well then I guess the bidders should have bid their top bid from the get-go. That is the problem w/ Ebay over the years. When I started on Ebay in 1999...buyers used to bid serious bids and the sniping was a minimum or the value actual reached it's true value well prior to the end of the auction. Those were the days. I don't know how many Ebay buyers contact me after an auction saying, "Oops...I missed the end of your auction, do you have any more." OR "Please lmk if you don't sell it and can send me a second chance offer." OR "I would have bid more, but, wasn't by a computer...yada, yada, yada..."

I have a friend that constantly messes up seller's buy it nows on Ebay bidding the minimum bids, thinking he will win $$$ toys for a steal...I can't stand that, especially when the sellers have reasonable or the lowest buy it nows anyway.

Just my 2 cents on the whole end of the auction situation.

For the sake of clarity, I think Scumdogg's art is easily worth the starting bid or more. My suggestion was simply meant to help the auction format. I chose an auction because I had multiple potential buyers, that were all good guys, and wanted to attempt a fair resolution. I was just sharing my experience using the auction format on this board. Frankly, I don't know if I would do it again.

Thank you Veers and TGB, for the kind words. They're much appreciated!

Normally i'd be alright with starting something off at $15, but i've actually got $9 wrapped up in a couple markers i bought especially for this because i wasn't happy with any of the colors i had on hand. :(

I think $20 is a reasonable start, it's quite a bit cheaper than i'd sell this particular piece at normally.

As to setting an end time, i guess we'll go ahead and say a week from the time i put it up. I doubt the ending will carry much controversy, i just didn't want to have this up forever if nobody was going to bid.

I agree w/ both of you guys. I always start my Ebay auctions off @ $9.99 so that their is plenty of room for buyers to bid and to encourage bidding...I just thought that if he started it out lower than the minimum labor/materials value he is willing to accept might make his auction a total waste of time. No point of giving away your art when it is that good...unless it is a gift to someone.

My two cents on pricing.
This is a good deal for pro-level quality original artwork.
To give you a comparison, publishers pay me $100 just for the right to print a copy of a similar sized picture, and I am at the low end of the market.
