While I do not own any of Scumdog's work, the fact he uses fade resistant markers and pencils means there is quality and it will last! His work is fantastic and while I agree w/ Veers on the price start, I too would probably start it off around $20-$25, because after you have spent the sort of time on a piece of art like that, I wouldn't want to have wasted hours on it to have it sell too cheap or at a steal! Seriously, there is nothing more disheartening as an artist when you put your time, materials, blood, and sweat into a work of art and it sells for a measly amount. Then you think to yourself, "Why did I bother selling it." I have a BS in Visual Art Education, was a Visual Art Educator for 7 years and a professional artist for over 15 years, so I can honestly say, "This is some EXCELLENT art work!" I was actually admiring this particular piece earlier this morning when I saw the post prior to Veers posting. Good Luck brutha!
BTW, I would probably set and end time and list what time zone you are and just end it then. If it gets sniped, well then I guess the bidders should have bid their top bid from the get-go. That is the problem w/ Ebay over the years. When I started on Ebay in 1999...buyers used to bid serious bids and the sniping was a minimum or the value actual reached it's true value well prior to the end of the auction. Those were the days. I don't know how many Ebay buyers contact me after an auction saying, "Oops...I missed the end of your auction, do you have any more." OR "Please lmk if you don't sell it and can send me a second chance offer." OR "I would have bid more, but, wasn't by a computer...yada, yada, yada..."
I have a friend that constantly messes up seller's buy it nows on Ebay bidding the minimum bids, thinking he will win $$$ toys for a steal...I can't stand that, especially when the sellers have reasonable or the lowest buy it nows anyway.
Just my 2 cents on the whole end of the auction situation.
