For this showcase I wanted to show LRG some Bootleg Kinnikuman Dekas (I think). They are made from a softer and more rubbery material & have no markings on the back. The biggest difference is that they are smaller than the regular 9cm Dekas. Upon acquiring lots I often end up with a bootleg or two (I dont plan on collecting them but if I get them in a lot all the better). Sometimes you end up with different sculpts (as is the case with Warsman). I took a lot of pictures and placed the original next to the Bootleg for comparison.

 

Does anyone know how many where made? How many exist? Or how they were packaged?

#27 Warsman (the original has a different sculpt than the bootleg). Also on occasion the legs end up a little bit warped and curl on the bottom.

I have a teacup head like this. I'm guessing that they were sold in capsule machines. I have seen a pic of one on a gum all header card. I'll see if I can find the pic

Not a great picture but this is from my コンプREX  2015 #6 issue (page 43) is this a bootleg Deka in a capsule or an original one?

 

Maybe someone can translate the Japanese.

 

I also have a couple of Dekas that have the Y-S.N.T marking on the back and are 1 cm or 2 cm smaller than the 9cm Deka. I have no explanation for this...

Also (unrelated to the Bootleg Dekas) in one of the lots I got this #26 The Mountain which is green & see through (plus like the Bootlegs soft and more rubbery).

 

However this guy has the Y-S.N.T marking on the back! Any idea as to what this is? It's the same size as the Bootleg Dekas but smaller than the original Dekas.

Y-snt on the back of a bootleg is common in japan

Hmmmm, I had no idea Eric, so then this second batch I have could also be Bootleg despite the Y.S.N.T on the back? the size is equal but the material differs (something in between the hardness of the Deka and softness of the ones unmarked with Y.S.N.T)

#14 Geronimo (here I have 3 sculpts: 1 original Deka and two smaller Dekas with ysnt markings on the back but the rubber on both is slightly different)

#32 The Ninja (here I have 3 sculpts: 1 original Deka and two smaller Dekas with ysnt markings on the back but the one in the middle has warped legs meaning it could have been inside a capsule?)

#41 Watchman (A) (again 3 sculpts and two have suttle ysnt markings but are way more rubbery)

32 Total (counting the doubles) I dont know yet if I want to display them all together or along with the other Dekas from the 117 Collection
