The question for this tournament is, "Which is the overall better figure?"

Note: This tournament features many different types of figures, please consider the entirety of a figure (sculpt, detailing, materials, originality, etc.) when voting. Additionally we ask for understanding with the lack of consistent pictures. Do not dismiss a figure because of a poor picture. Please feel free to post a better picture of the figure you selected.

My vote easily goes to Bombos, He looks Awesome and is just begging to be played with. I find that Adam Bomb like the rest of the GPK line is a really good looking sculpt, but just too 2D for my liking, I like toys that are bulky with more of a weight behind them, Something you can really get stuck into!

i think to make a truly informed decision on the gpk one needs to look as nicodemus' collection or his website geepeekay.com. he's done the best job i've seen at taking pics of the red gpk. some of the best pics of the whole series to tell the truth. and you can see the particular sculpts in a different color if you so choose.

that being said, i totally went with bombos! hehe. definitely the superior figure between the two, and one of the cooler figs from the gormiti series.

Although I love the GPK line, the sculpts are not strong enough in many ways to win a competition. I do not think the GPK will go very far in this tournament. Just my opinion. :(

I'm not wild about either figure, but despite Bombos' rather poorly executed paint detailing, he has a better overall look.

Magma cannon for an arm?

Usually thats instant WIN..

This time im not sure ( i havent voted yet).

What i find when i look at this particular GPK sculpt is something entertaining and perhaps even cerebral. I could see it being a conversation piece at work or upon a visit to a friends house and "philosophizing" over the ails of the world. You cant say that seeing a human being with a mushroom cloud rising from his head doesnt bring to mind potential artistic parallels with societies current state.

A head exploding is a universal metaphor yes ?

Im going to think this over a bit more before voting..

Edit:
Ok..my vote goes to the Gormiti. While i can appreciate the thoughts that the GPK figure provokes...the Gormiti is built for action. Arent toys meant to be played with..not philosophized over?

i didnt even need to see the pics, i went w/ adam bomb cuz its the one gpk i wish i had.
gormiti figures just seem so contrived. like "look we design every part of our monsters into unrealistic weapons, arent our toys cooler"
no they're not, they're boring and unoriginal and overpriced.

i really like what articulationnut said about adam bomb above, pretty deep. and enogh reason to win your vote.

the GPKs seem to be losing HARD - I kind of like them, I don't view them as being horrible figures, but they aren't really any competition at all here. How is that? I mean, you'd think they were all horrible ugly bits of malformed plastic with the way they're going so far.

I have to disagree in some respects because i think Gormiti are quite original. Each series of the figures evolves into a different creature i cannot really think of another toyline that uses this concept. Plus hardly any of the figures have unrealistic weapons, most of them do not have any weapons. Tentacles, wings, claws, horns, spikes etc could be used as weapons, but they are not unrealistic. This specific sculpt has an arm that can fire magma, but the GPK has an exploding nuclear bomb head - which is the less realistic? :D

I voted for the Gormiti. I do not have this sculpt myself but it fits in well with the rest of the line. He looks bad, something pure evil about him. He has no emotion other than hatred eminating from his body of rock and molten lava. He could fit in well with all sorts of toys really. Imagine the Lava Gormiti with some realsitic disnosaur line - that would look cool! Or he could be the alien from another planet, the unstopable creature with whom no-one could bargain with.

Again something I touched upon in the first round with a GPK is it does not capture the feel of the cards and stickers that i loved as a kid. For me Adam Bomb is an iconic image, this sculpt unfortunately is not :(

I voted for the Gormiti, even though I love Monocoloured figures and im getting rid of my Gormiti, Adam Bomb is a real dissapointment the figure could have been so much cooler looking and even the figure in hand is too small.

I've seen a GPK figure in person, even in this red color that so many people seem to like for whatever reason. I don't see the attraction. The "collectible" argument Soupie was pushing makes little sense to me either, when the product is still inferior to more common toys, and I've never had a positive connection to the GPK concept either. I think I mentioned before that gross toys for the sake of being gross was never my thing.

Almost any Gormiti figure would get my vote over a Cheap Toy. Bombos in particular just happens to be one of the strongest Series 2 sculpts out there. I'm expecting him to go far, and to probably content against other strong Gormiti or even Army Ant sculpts. This isn't even remotely going to be a contest.

EDIT: I should append to my post, "not that there's anything wrong with it." Different people like differing toylines. I can't deny that the GPK Cheap Toys reach an audience, even if a small one. But those darn toys are going DOWN. :D

Look GPK's are nice, they will probably win a match-up or two. One might even sneak deep into the tournament with the right match-ups, but Adam won't be doing that.

There's no question Bombos is the better figure. He's not perfect, but he's simply better. Any argument for the GPK is just from a collector point of view. The Gormiti is the better overall figure.

I'm neither a GPK or Gormtii fan, I think both are extremely overpriced which is a huge turnoff, but Bombos has playability and cool factor on his side. If I were a kid and had a choice between the two to buy at the store, I'd get Bombos. :D

I'm surprised at all the claims of Gormiti being overpriced...the 4-packs are especially reasonable by today's standards. Hell, look at competing minifigure lines like Ben 10 and such. $6 for two thumbnail-sized pieces of translucent rubber. Or Pokemon, where figures are often $5-$6 each because they've got some sort of unnecessary electronics in them. And MUSCLES were pretty dirt cheap, sure, but were Battle Beast 2-packs much cheaper than $6 even 20 years ago?

I'd recommend checking out a couple Gormiti in person if you're skeptical of their value or design qualities...there are definitely some cool figures in there, and i think most of them actually show a surprising amount of restraint in their designs. The figures i own at least are all pretty iconic of the element they represent, and although they're not articulated like Battle Beasts the poses are often far more dynamic.

And at the very least, they definitely fit into Veers' philosophy of higher play value, which i can definitely appreciate. GPK figures are kinda cool in their own right, but they definitely look like what they started out as...crappy candy pack-ins. Don't get me wrong, i'd love a set of them, but they can't really hold up against most other LRG lines.

Well, I saw them at target not last week, they are quite nifty, but still to me anything that is that size and not over 10 years old isn't worth the mark. I don't even look through the Star Wars figs anymore since the price hike. And the Ben 10 figs, although pretty sweet, are way up there. I remember when an action figure was $3 bucks, now for one of similar size your gonna drop a 10 spot or more. It's rough out there in the collector world. :D The only time I go in on a good toy line at those prices is when there seems to be a feasible end to it at some time. Gormtii can go on for YEARS more.

i dunno, if this site was called "kiddie fun time" i would consider a figure's playability. but to me LRG.com means COLLECTORS of SMALL NONARTICULATED MONOCROMATIC figures. its getting far from that credo quickly.
BUT to be honest, i DO like this gormiti much more than the previous one in the running. its colors just looks WAY better and those carbuncle looking magma cannons are freaky. i certainly wouldn't pass it up at a flea market. its just not a bandwagon i felt like jumping on.

i'd rather have a gormiti figure over bakugan ANYDAY !!

and yeah, adam bomb is unrealistic, its a GARBAGE PAIL KID. it's SUPPOSED to be weird and they nail it! (he says with a mushroom cloud coming out of his own head)
