I don't collect Gormiti. Yet I am kinda interested in a few of them. For example, I'm somewhat interested in Gormiti figures which resemble cryptids - especially Mothman (and Owlman, Garuda, etc.). I'm also somewhat interested in Gormiti figures which resemble monsters from the writings of H.P. Lovecraft - especially great Cthulhu.

Because I don't collect Gormiti, I know almost nothing about them. So I'm asking anyone more experienced with Gormiti the following questions:
1) Which Gormiti look most like Mothman?
2) Which Gormiti look most like Cthluhu?

Thanks In Advance,
"Brojo"

Most of the Insect like ones are People of The Air/ Air Tribe all Gormiti Tribes have Lovecraftian/cryptids figures in them Except Peaople of the Earth /Earth Tribe which by far have the dullest looking figures.

1) Which Gormiti look most like Mothman?

That would have to be Alos the Hypnotizer from Series 1. (http://www.gormiti.t...ipnotizador.png). There are other figures who look similar, but only Alos has that head-below-the-shoulders look.

2) Which Gormiti look most like Cthluhu?

Either Ancient Jellyfish from Series 1 (http://jaffasworld.c...age.132x150.jpg) or possibly Carrapax from Series 2 (http://www.gormiti.t...nor-del-mar.png).

Series 1 & 2 are the only ones out in the US right now (3 is on the way), so I had that in mind when I answered your questions. I'm pretty sure Alos is the only figure that resembles mothman so closely, but a lot of the Water Tribe figures from all the series are Lovecraftian in nature, so you might want to keep an eye on those and see if there's any that tickle your fancy.

Alos is quite Mothmanesque, so is Mistica Falena ("Mystic Moth") from Series 3:

For Cthulhu, I would say Likasau from Elemental Fusion is closest, if you can get past the four arms... he's the only one I can think of with the mouth-tentacle thing going on:

I don't know anything at all about Gormiti, yet even I've personally seen Gormiti which look even more like Mothman & Cthulhu than the recommendations I've received thus far. (I do appreciate the suggestions, though; please keep them coming.)

For example, the figure in the upper-left looks a LOT like Cthulhu

That would be Poivrons/Polypus. There is a resemblance, but his head is an octopus. The main distinguishing feature of Cthulhu are the tentacles coming out of his mouth, which is more like Likasau.

Just my opinion though

And this 4-pack contains two figures which look a lot like humanoid moths

Yes, Severe Guardian and Magic Lookout look more like moths than Alos the Hypnotizer, but they don't look so much like Mothman.

The bottom line, though, is that - besides the basic outline of it's body - almost nothing is known about Mothman's features. Furthermore, the outline of a winged creature is completely different when it's wings are extended or retracted. Maybe it had a moth-like face, maybe it didn't; all we know for sure is that it had glowing red eyes.

Then, by those standards, how do you expect us to present you with a Gormiti figure that looks like Mothman? Alos looks far more like the common depiction of Mothman than the two you mentioned (The Severe Guardian and The Magic Lookout).

From what I've read, Mothman seems to most resemble: [1] a winged reptilian "Draco", [2] a giant bird raptor or owl (Thunderbird), or [3] a winged humanoid associated with impending disasters, something like a Garuda.

I don't know where you're pulling all this "Draco" and "Garuda" stuff out of. According to the eyewitnesses' descriptions in The Mothman Prophecies, it was described as a winged humanoid with glowing red eyes that seemed to be staring out of its chest. Despite the name, Mothman was never described as looking like a moth. I think you're mixing in different legends here, and I was under the impression we were talking about Mothman, not Thunderbirds or Garudas.

I'll give you a point for bringing up Polypus, though. I completely forgot about him(somehow) and he does do a better job at resembling Cthulhu than the two I mentioned.

I seem to recall there were reports of Thunderbird sightings concurrent to Mothman sightings. Anyway, I've found the one with the best likeness of all:

Please don't misunderstand me: I really do appreciate all the suggestions.

I'm merely trying to help narrow the search parameters.

I'm aware of what Garuda and Thunderbirds are. And yes, Nyarlathotep, you're right that there were alleged sightings of giant birds at the same time as the Mothman sightings. I have reason to believe that(assuming the sightings to be true, of course) these "giant birds" were separate entities from Mothman, and the newspaper just lumped any odd sighting into "OMG MOTHMAN SEEN AGAIN" type headlines to generate further buzz. After all, isn't anything strange seen in the wooded areas of New Jersey said to be the Jersey Devil, regardless of what it is actually reported to look like?

But it appears that MonsterInMyPocket belongs to the more mundane group of Cryptozoologists, so let's not get into a debate here. <_<

If you're interested in figures of actual humanoid moths, then The Magic Lookout (the first picture in your previous post) is obviously the best choice. It's worth noting that there are actually two different figures of The Magic Lookout (aside from the mere color-variation you posted a picture of), one from Series 1 and the other from the Cartoon Series, which hasn't been released in the US yet. I'm not sure what The Severe Guardian is supposed to be (the one in the second picture) but he's got a moth/butterfly-like proboscis, so there's that.

Goad is indeed a Gormiti figure (he's that guy buzzing around in my avatar), but he's apparently a humanoid fruit fly in a Speedo. Take that as you will.

I'm not as familiar with Gormiti that haven't been released in the US (and there's a lot that haven't been released here yet), so you might want to head on over to the official Italian Gormiti site (www.gormiticlub.it) and have a look around their product pages.
