I just got my Romando Dik Dik in this week. Yes, the package for this figure says Gazelleman, but I think that name sucks, so I'll stick with the name Dik Dik!

Company: Romando
Packaging: Carded blister pack.
Size: 7 1/2" tall (including his horns). Dik Dik is a solid action figure. Like the other G2 Romandos, Dik Dik is thick and is fairly heavy.

Looks: 5 out of 5: I just think that Dik Dik is a cool looking character, period. I have always liked his character design. The sculpt is excellent. His costume has nice detail and you can see his muscles rippling under the costume. His face has the trademark Dik Dik conceited smirk. The paint job is fantastic. There are no sloppy lines. His costume is a nice flat paint while his knee armor and boots are a glossy paint. There is also some shading. The figure has great texture and looks like the character sprung to life. Dik Dik is a great looking character, and Romando delivered a perfect sculpt and paint job.

Articulation: 3.5 out of 5: Dik Dik has the typical articulation of all the G2 Romandos, Dik Dik has 13 points of articulation at the neck, sholders, elbows, upper ab, waist, hips, knees and ankles. The shoulder and ankle joints are ball and socket that allow for a great range of motion. Again, I just wish there was some damn wrist or hand articulation.

Accessories: 4 out of 5: Dik Dik wouldn't be complete without his Antler Fist! It is gunmetal grey with brass/gold colored antlers. It snaps around his wrist and has a peg that inserts into the back of his hand to insure that it stays put. It is a simple sculpt and the paint is neatly applied. At least Romando paints their accessories unlike some other toy companies. I can't think of much else Dik Dik should come with so I was happy with this small accessory.

Value: 3 out of 5: I know, repeat after me, "Romandos aren't a great deal!" Ok, Dik Dik costs $39.99 on xxxxxxx.com. The cool thing is that shipping is free! I don't think that $39 is that bad for a hard to find figure that is well made, pretty large and looks very cool.

Coolness 4.5 out of 5: I think Dik Dik is one cool cat. He is a neat looking figure and has that trademark smirk. You have to love the Dik Dik! This is a great character made into a very cool action figure.

Overall: 4 out of 5: This is an excellent action figure! Dik Dik is sassy and smooth. He is a well done action figure that looks fantastic on display. I definately recommend you getting your Dik Dik today.

Hey Rokk, are they rotocast? They don't look solid like the original Romandos.

Dik Dik is not rotocast. He is a solid figure like the nice original Romandos. All of the G2 figures are solid.

These things are damn expensive, but I'd get the Dik Dik first of all. Dik Dik and the Wally proto look like the only ones I'll ever buy.

Great review! The G2 Romandohs look pretty cool, but the joints seem... weird. The shoulders have a strange, distracting shape, and when you bend the knees, they expose half-blue, half-brown. The elbows have a distracting sculpt, too. That's probably just nit-picking, though. I'm sure I could get past it.

Thanks, Nathan.

The joints are a little strange. I like the range of motion that the shoulder joints offer, however, the look of them is a little odd. It breaks up the lines of the sculpt. But, I have gotten used to it after the Mantaro figure so I don't notice it that much with the rest of the figures.

Are the joints as fragile as on the Blue Ashuraman? (My Ash literally fell apart)

Interesting. First, I must admit that my Romandos are for display purposes and I rarely play with them. Therefore, I'm not too sure how well these G2 Romando joints would hold up under heavy play use. I have compared Dik Dik's elbow joints with those of my blue Ashuraman. The G2 elbow joints look very similiar to Ashuraman's elbow joints. The only difference is that the G2 elbow joint has a large pin in it. That might make it more sturdy. The G2 elbows also move easier than Ashuraman's elbows. That may lead to a lower chance of breaking the joints. As a whole, I have never had any problems with any of my G1 or G2 Romando's breaking or falling apart at the joints.
