This will be a 3 month long contest running from October 1st, 2004 to January 1st, 2005.

Objective:
To create, within the time frame alotted, the best Micro Action Figure. Period.

Here are a few examples, courtesy of the vanished Joe Gibbs of M.U.S.C.L.E. UK and the ever present Nathan Newell of Nathan's M.U.S.C.L.E. Page:
http://www.newellsys.../muscle/maf.asp

Rules:
All entries MUST be postmarked no LATER than January 2nd, 2005 and RECEIVED in my mail box by January 11th, 2005. You will have 3 months to create and submit your entries. Sorry, no exceptions. I am not responsible for lost, damaged, misdirected or stolen mail. So, please print legibly and clearly. You may want to use delivery confirmation also.

Assembly:
The Micro Action Figure, herein referred to as "Micro AF", must be roughly the same general dimension as a M.U.S.C.L.E. or a standard Kinnikuman Kinkeshi figure, i.e. 1" to 2" (inches) tall.

The figure may be kitbashed (put together from parts of many other figures), created from scratch, made from a single figure or manufactured in any way you feel like.

It is required that the figure be painted, even if it is just a base coat. HOWEVER it is common sense that entries with only a base paint job/color scheme will receive a lower score.

This is a Micro AF contest, not a custom figure contest, so the figure MUST have at least the basic 5 points of articulation. The above referenced site shows many ingenious ways of articulating your figures. More is not necessarily better in every case, but good solid articulation will get more points than barely any articulation. Use your head and make the articulation match the figure you are creating.

Judges:
There will be multiple judges, of which I will be one. My scoring will outweigh the others by 2 to 1. Judges will not be able to compete in the contest. That being so, I will pick the judges accordingly.

Scoring:
Scoring will be based on:
1. Concept/Originality
2. Articulation
3. Paint/Color Scheme
4. Attention to detail
5. Overall kewlness/appeal
6. Judges overall favorite

Entries:
Yes, you may submit multiple entries, and yes, one person can win multiple prizes based on their multiple entries.

Prizes:
1st Place:
$100 Kinkeshi Credit at the AKIA Store
OR
$50 cash

2nd Place:
$40 Kinkeshi Credit at the AKIA Store
OR
$20 cash

3rd Place: (if this contest receives 15 or more entries)
$30 Kinkeshi Credit at the AKIA Store
OR
$15 cash

4th Place: (if this contest receives 20 or more entries)
$20 Kinkeshi Credit at the AKIA Store
OR
$10 cash

Miscellaneous:
This contest is open to ANYONE, ANYWHERE.
Any official questions must be posted in this thread, where they will receive an official and binding response. If you have a non-official question, please PM me here on the board. Specifications and prizes MAY be added to these rules, but none can be removed. If the contest receives more than 30 qualifying entries, I will DOUBLE the 1st place. YES that means $200 in Kinkeshi credit OR $100 cash. Winners will be posted in THIS thread and on the Kinnikuman.Com main page on no later than Friday, January 21st, 2005. I will also create a second thread entailing ALL the entries. All submissions become property of Kinnikuman.Com.

Please send all entries to:

 I am not sure how many of you are planning on participating in this contest, but for those considering it. It is pretty tough. As Muscle UK says, expect to go through a minimum of two figures per micro AF. I just got started on my first (of the three I plan on submitting, time permitting) and I had to hack up three figures just to get the right angles and shizznit for the joints. I hope the rest go a little smoother than this one. Since Johnny is keeping them, I will document it thoroughly and add a section to my site to them. If they turn out sweet enough, I may make more for myself. I don't want to go into great detail about what I am doing to prevent copy cats, however, I would be curious as to who else is joining and what kind of stuff they are doing. Good luck and have fun. Be safe, I have about a dozen slices and a shorter fingernail thanks to this evenings massacre.

I started trying to make an 'Evolution' style figure... but wow! It's HARD.

It requires much more talent than 've got.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

Two down,
One (Maybe two) to go.

Now if I can just figure out how to paint.

These are tough, but I am really please at how they are turning out. My first one cost me 5 different muscles because ideas were not working and I was not thinking. My second one cost me three.

Johnny, do you plan on posting pics as you recieve them, or are you going to post them all at once like I did? Just curious. I plan on adding a portion of MAF's to my site, but will not post the link until you give the ok. They are pretty neat, I will make more after your contest for my own collection.

:) Nate,
Why is your web site asking for a password? I can't seem to find the MAF section either?

Who knows...I might do one just to keep everyone on their toes and up to snuff...

I really enjoyed the first one I did a couple of years ago.

We'll see...

:o Nate,
Why is your web site asking for a password? I can't seem to find the MAF section either?

 This has been resolved. Sorry about the problem. I've been moving things around, and the server locked the MuscleUK image folder for whatever reason.

Ok queer, I can understand that. I think Johnny would want it anyways though. Hurry up and finish it. I'd like to see what you have put together. I am sure it is neato. I can't wait to show off mine, I think they turned out pretty snazzy. I am sure Mischas did too, that creative bee-eye-itch.
