This will be a 3 month long contest running from October 1st, 2004 to January 1st, 2005.
Objective:
To create, within the time frame alotted, the best Micro Action Figure. Period.
Here are a few examples, courtesy of the vanished Joe Gibbs of M.U.S.C.L.E. UK and the ever present Nathan Newell of Nathan's M.U.S.C.L.E. Page:
http://www.newellsys.../muscle/maf.asp
Rules:
All entries MUST be postmarked no LATER than January 2nd, 2005 and RECEIVED in my mail box by January 11th, 2005. You will have 3 months to create and submit your entries. Sorry, no exceptions. I am not responsible for lost, damaged, misdirected or stolen mail. So, please print legibly and clearly. You may want to use delivery confirmation also.
Assembly:
The Micro Action Figure, herein referred to as "Micro AF", must be roughly the same general dimension as a M.U.S.C.L.E. or a standard Kinnikuman Kinkeshi figure, i.e. 1" to 2" (inches) tall.
The figure may be kitbashed (put together from parts of many other figures), created from scratch, made from a single figure or manufactured in any way you feel like.
It is required that the figure be painted, even if it is just a base coat. HOWEVER it is common sense that entries with only a base paint job/color scheme will receive a lower score.
This is a Micro AF contest, not a custom figure contest, so the figure MUST have at least the basic 5 points of articulation. The above referenced site shows many ingenious ways of articulating your figures. More is not necessarily better in every case, but good solid articulation will get more points than barely any articulation. Use your head and make the articulation match the figure you are creating.
Judges:
There will be multiple judges, of which I will be one. My scoring will outweigh the others by 2 to 1. Judges will not be able to compete in the contest. That being so, I will pick the judges accordingly.
Scoring:
Scoring will be based on:
1. Concept/Originality
2. Articulation
3. Paint/Color Scheme
4. Attention to detail
5. Overall kewlness/appeal
6. Judges overall favorite
