Company: Romandoh
Packaging: Carded blister pack.
Size: 7" tall. Jade is heavy! Like all G2 Romandohs, Jade is a large solid figure.
Sculpt (5 out of 5): Jade's sculpt is excellent. This figure captures his likeness perfectly. Jade is buff with excellent muscle definition without being cartoonish. His pants have creases and folds which shows this sculpt's attention to detail. His collar has Broken's skull amulet as well as the initials "BJ" on a gold patch on the side of Jade's collar as an homage to his mentor Broken Jr. Overall, the sculpt is very well done and looks like Jade sprung to life from the manga.
Paint (5 out of 5): Once again, Romandoh really delivers in this department. The paint job is just awesome. His skin is a nice flat flesh color that gives him a realistic look. His uniform is a flat green color with metallic gold pain for his buttons. His outfit has shading painted on it to give it a realistic and textured look. His boots and armbands and gloves have a nice smooth brown that looks like leather. The studs on his armbands are painted a shiny silver. His helmet is painted a very cool metallic green. The "Red Rain of Pain" flame is also well done. It is painted a combination of yellow, orange and red and it looks sweet! The paint application is well done. There are no sloppy lines or bleeding. However, it appears the person painting my Jade forgot to finish painting his belt in one spot. Overall, if there is one area that the new Romandohs have seriously improved over the G1 original Romandohs it would be the paint jobs.
Articulation (3.5 out of 5): Jade has standard articulation for a G2 Romandoh. He has 15 points of articulation at his neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, upper chest, waist, upper thighs, knees and ankles. The ball and socket articulation for the shoulders is excellent. Once again, the only thing I could ask for is some sort of hand articulation. However, Jade is the first G2 Romandoh to have wrist articulation. So maybe we are headed toward hand articulation in the near future.
Accessories (4 out of 5): Jade comes with his regular bike helmet, an elongated bike helmet and his "Red Rain of Pain" flame that attached to his hand. The regular helmet is cool and fits Jade perfectly. The elongated helmet is wicked. It actually fits jade very well and doesn't fall off. Plus, it makes him look cool. But, the best is the "Red Rain of Pain" flame. It is a combination of red, orange and yellow semi-clear plastic. With this on Jade's fist he just looks completely bad-assed!
Action Features: N/A
Coolness (5 out of 5): Jade is cool, period. He is a tough character that makes for a bad-assed action figure. Jade overall look of is pretty cool, but once you add on his "Red Rain of Pain" flame, he is immediately one of the cooler action figures on your shelf.
Value (3 out of 5): Being a Romandoh, Jade will not get a high score in this category. He is cheaper than some other Romandohs, but at $38, he is still not cheap. However, Jade is a quality figure that looks fantastic, so I think he is well worth the money.
Overall (4.25 out of 5): Romandoh delivers once again. Jade is a great figure that combines a nice sculpt, a great paint job, good articulation and sweet accessories. And that, my friends, is a recipe for one kick-arse figure that is fun to play with and looks great on display. I definately recommend Jade for any collection.
