I'm not a mod, but RULES are created to be followed, not ignored.  I'm not saying Peter ignored them, and I'm betting he didn't.  He probably hasn't even seen them yet, DUHHHH. I post that there so if other people haven't seen the new rules they might see those.  It's the internet version of spreading the word instead of just relying on a pinned thread that not everybody knows has been updated.  DUHHHHH again. Of course this is the internet, so people like you will take its meaning completely out of context and twist it into something it isn't.

Also, common sense says if you ask one question in a thread there isn't any sense/reason to ask it again in another thread.  Deh de dehhhhhhhhhhhh.  Here's your sign.

I doubt that very much.........  My money is on the winner thanking all the doubt that this board created.  :notme:

and with ebay buyer protection if it was fake they can pretty easily get their money back. Ebay is always on the buyers side.

Yes.  If someone can get his money back from a poster he bought when the description said the size is A10 then I think people should be able to get their money back for just about anything.

But what if payment is through ProPay and not PayPal?

eBay is PayPal, then can send the money right back. I don't think they can make another company do jack shit.

One would think the Ebay Buyer Protection would cover all pay systems that Ebay allows.  If it doesn't, then that is just dumb.

It covers paypro too. But im not sure it covers all pay systems, it does mention that paypro is covered though.

lol Another Purple Claw. This figure is not very rare anymore. Quite a few new ones have surfaced in the last two years.

Edit: I just now saw the other thread. I'm not trying to beat a dead horse

NO shenanigans at all on this auction fellas, the buyer is just waiting to get the claw in first. I don't blame him at all for that....I am sure when he is ready he will explain what the seller had to do, that's up to him.

So who is the mysterious Matt?

Hello all.......I am Matt. A few of ya know me, most don't. Jay was correct, I was waiting to have it in hand before coming out with the story. Jay was also correct in there being no shenanigans on this auction. Those of you who said/thought that #1-bad picture & #2-no PayPal was scaring people, I think you all were correct as well. The pic was a gamble but I don't understand what made propay such a scary thing to some. I payed thru eBay and was protected by eBay......there was nothing unusual or crazy about this seller using propay instead of PayPal. And this propay thing worked in my favor in this instance. So here is basically the scoop......
The seller found this muscle while refurbing a house in Vegas area. So having no use or need for this little toy the seller decided to put on eBay, and was surprised at all the attention this thing was getting. So with a prayer and a gamble on a story& bad pic I went for it. Now for the cool twist at auctions end. I was trying to pay to the seller's account through the propay but it would not accept my transfer. So I contact the seller and explain the account won't let me pay. Seller mssg back they will look into what the problem could be. Gets back to me a few minutes later explaining their acct was set to receive a max of $500 on a transaction, so to move things along for me they offered to cancel auction and relist to me as BIN for a flat $500, and BOOOM here it is......in my collection. And here is the really cool kicker that some of you might think to be the most touching story a PurpleClaw has been part of. The seller is giving half the money from the auction to a soup kitchen they volunteer at twice a month. Pretty cool, huh.
So there ya have it, the latest PurpleClaw happening. Sorry if anybody thought I was being sneaky by not posting right away that I had won the auction. I suppose flying under the radar days are now over :)
Cheers

Awesome story about the soup kitchen.  That is a first to hear about an auction.  Awesome to say the least.

I was right all along.  All the "issues" this board created aided the buyer.  If anybody else was on the edge of bidding and didn't because of LRG I'm betting vader is thankful for all the "issues" this board generated. I still think the price of purple claw will hang around the winning bid.

Yes, it's legit....bends like a m.u.s.c.l.e, smells like a m.u.s.c.l.e, feels like a m.u.s.c.l.e.
I would agree that the purple looks weird in the photo I sent Eric (if that is what troubles your eye)
I took a few photos, all look the same on my phone.
