Not directly related because I hate talking about that asshole, but isnt it ridiculous that buyers can only recieve positive feedbacks? I have only left 2-3 neg feedbacks my whole entire ebay career and all of them were for non paying buyers, its effing ridiculous they can bid worry free and decide not to pay for an item now if they dont want it. As far as this figure goes, considering the seller, something is shady, I dont know what, but its garanteed to be tainted in some way.

The figure is not shady, Jon sold it to him, but the seller is.

Question? How did he end up with 100% feedback??? If I recall correctly, he didn't have 100% awhile back....

Oh, I wasnt implying that. Johnny is my number one ace. I trust him with more than money and toys, id trust him with my life. He is one of my best friends irl. I know the figure is legit, I own two of Johnny's magnificent 11. I'm just saying, something is promised to be odd with this seller. Either he has 3 of them and he is trying to pawn one off like its one of a kind, or he is bidding on it himself to make other people think a SR is worth that much, when the going price is about a grand, which is also a price he has set. Guess he is trying to raise it.

maybe its really messed up and he actually mails it to himself for the joy of the sale and find! This could be a severe complex. How do you guys know he doesnt even move 5000 in 2 accounts to fullfill both personalities.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

your feedback can return back to 100% over time. this was something ebay decided to implement some time ago. as far as mutually agreeing the cancel a transaction between a buyer and seller, that option has always been available from the very beginning of ebay. so really anyone Plus a friend can setup these bogus auctions and shill bid them to death hoping its not their friend who comes out the top winner, but an actual serious bidder. TOTAL manipulation of the ebay system. if there friend wins it, well they can always agree to cancel, no harm to either of them, and they just pay the $2 to list the auction. on top of that they can even leave positive feedback for each other, so really its not like they are wasting there $2 to list the auctions, they are paying for a hoax and positive feedback. Its a WIN/WIN situation for the seller either way it goes, nothing can really go wrong at that point.

p.s. you got to be a low life to set up one of these "Trick Dice" auctions.

Isn't this seller known for shilling his own auctions?

Would it be worth it to pay the fees and whatnot in order to "establish" that the figure in question is actually "worth" that much?

Here is an email from Alex. We can make up our minds. Like I told him, if he got it, then he got it. Some might say the 5K was greed, but look at how much the M.U.S.C.L.E. Hauler went for. It's known that there are 3 to 5 of those to exist. Look at how much those cartoons went for.

He might have found a collector with a MUCH bigger wallet.

I always invision some hollywood bigshot 30 somethign like all of us but with disposable money like we never imagined. I will always be amazed at the famous artwork stupid Lars from mettalica had. Its these kinda of people in the public eye but with private hobbies I think are buying up this stuff at ridiculus prices.

On the same note but fiction, I remeber a episode of smallville were lex luthor reveals his comic collection. It occured to me if lex luthor needed one of my comics, cover price would not be the offer. He would pay whatever.

This is merely speculation, but as his email states "If I find another one" means he either already had two and my previous post theory is correct that he wanted to sell it as a one of a kind. Or he didn't sell it and this was all bogus, but he will claim he sold it, and miraculously finds another one to sell you at the made up price of 5k. Knowing how douchetastic he is, I know either way he is scamming. Not to mention, keeping in mind how extremely greedy he is, he wold never sell a SR if it was one of a kind and the only one he had.

let's not forget that the muscle hauler is a hot wheels item. and we all know those guys are all nuts. the prices of those are more than likely due to the dementia these types of collectors all suffer.

Oh I agree paying that much for plastic is crazy (just a little :o ), but then baseball cards could be put in that same realm. Isn't the holy grail of baseball cards the tobacco series of Honus Wagner? Think about how much those baseball cards have gone for. I've also seen the very first Superman comic ever on Ebay retail for $1,000,000. Some people have more (much moreeeeeeeeeeeee) money than us at LRG.

Back to the topic at hand. If Alex did really sell it, I don't think he has another one. I would be shocked if any of the Magnificent 11 turned up more than once. I still think that those 11 were a one-shot salesman sample that never left Japan.

I'd be shocked as well, but it is common place for sales samples to get more than one test shot. There are many cases where prototype package samples of figures who are about to hit full production have anywhere from 12 to 24 or more test samples for show, display, or presentation purposes.

So I would be shocked if he actually found another sales sample, but not surprised that one or more exist.

I was looking at his site and it might only be news to me but he also found a tree with a grape claw, sunshine and a few other one of a kind figures besides his amazing collection of super rares. It is not unreasonable to think that while he has a nack for finding amazing pieces he came across a buyer wanting to own a rare piece more than they care about the cost. I would happily buy his grape sunshine and not worry at all about the legitimacy in the very least. If the guy has a legit sale good for him he is the most dedicated collector I have ever seen obsessed or not.

Best,
Chris

Legitimacy is what is in question. If this dudes a shill, dedication is an improper word. Hes a con artist. If he keeps moving his cons to higher and higher market values, hes entering the realm of a white collar criminal. Heres hoping the FBI opens a MUSCLE division.
