This one was easy for me: #81 trounces the crap out of #50. 81 is a cool personification of an easily-recognizable landmark (Easter Island statues) and looks really solid and strong. Definitely a formidable opponent.

#50 was probably my least favorite MUSCLE as a kid. Although he has a good build, he just looks like a pansy. His expression and the bird on his head makes him look effeminate.

Later, I learned that he was actually kind of a savage bad-ass in the Kinnikuman cartoon. If I knew about that when I was a kid, maybe I would have been more accepting of him. But as it stands, I can't stand the figure.

The word that came to mind when I first saw #50 was "dork." It's the wings along his head and that goofy-looking face. Ok, a muscular dork, but one all the same to me.

On the other hand, I could recognize what Amoiman was without even knowing the Kinnikuman storyline. Easter Island is ten kinds of awesome, and even if he was against a slightly more decent figure, #81 would be an easy choice.

I'd probably have voted for 81 if the only version I had of him wasn't this partially bleached nasty salmon figure.

I like 50 because he can fly!!! And he has a large somewhat interesting head ornament.

I’m torn on this one.

#81 is cooler to me now, but #50 was one of my favorites as a kid. In fact I hated #81, I thought he was the weaker of the rock-type figures. It never dawned on me as a kid that it had an Easter Island influence.

#81 gets points for incorporating an iconic image into a figure. Unfortunately I think the body sculpt is pretty dull. I agree that less-is-more, but the hard work has already been done with the iconic head. If you’re going to rip off an icon, then you better have the ability to make it work. The body just seems lazy on this figure.

#50 always fascinated me as a kid, and I still really like the figure. It has an ornate helmet, with a face that always seemed bird-like to me. It’s unfortunate that he has a neutral pose, but I always felt this gave the figure more of a regal quality. This figure seemed like a leader to me. He wouldn’t have to raise his arms.

My vote goes to #50.

I always thought Hawkman ~WAS~ female, and thus was part of the 'prize' the champion would win.

I also was a huge fan of the Easter Island guy as a kid (had him in Red. STILL looks badass, even today!), even though I had no clue what Easter Island was. I later saw 'em and made the connection immediatly.

I'm going for the Big Red Block.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

I went with 81. I didnt have either of these muscles as a child, but if I had, 81 would have been a contender. The other guy is sort of dorky looking to me. 81 has a nice muscle sculpt, good fighting pose, and solid as a rock.

Yeah, this one isn't too easy..... I like both of these sculpts! I know I had 81 when I was a kid, but I'm not sure about 50...I may have, but he may have been one of those who died during the earthquake of 89...... Hmm.. Let me see.

50 is a great sculpt! I was HUGE into Heman and Thundercat toys when I was a terd, and he just emits that Essence of the 80's! Bird Head Man just has a nice ring to it! :) I like his outfit and his almost soaring pose, like he is launching through the air.

81 on the other hand....I knew what he was iconing even back then, and although he pulls it off quite well, I never really liked his lack of character aside from his History book recognition. I don't care much for his underwear either. Like Dk said he looks like an over the hill Arnold.

50 gets me vote!

#50 Hawkman got my vote. I called him Iron Eagle when I was a kid, and I always wanted him after I seen him on the Nestle Quik Can, thinking he must be something special to get a spot on that can! haha.

taking nothing away from #81 Amoiman, he's a pretty cool fig and has a great playable pose and looked tough to beat. Rock is always hard and tough to hurt! I called him Granok.

Hawkman just seems more vintage to me and gets the nod!

i found this one actually kinda hard, i like both figs, but the rock faced easter island head man wins on sheer brute strength. The Hawkman guy was actually my sisters favourite fig as a kid, and he could fly obviously. My sister was always swooping in and saving no.7 from gettin a beating from one of the bigger, badder guys
